It’s not a surprising news, in the past few spy photos have highly anticipated, but we didn’t expect certainly to see the new bike with so much ahead of the autumn and already be ordered at dealerships. Yamaha unveils the Tracer 700 , second crossover derived from the MT series and equipped with the engine and the chassis of the succesfull naked MT-07.
Yamaha Tracer 700 is now a guarantee of versatility and sportiness for those who appreciate the MT-07. Like its bigger sister, The “small” Iwata crossover has edgy aesthetic, but the windshield becomes slightly more rounded and the less clear shapes. Remains twice projector that sits alongside the vents and almost triangular in shape plexiglass. The proportions that seek to give more space and passenger wind protection, while maintaining the compactness that make the MT-07 an agile bike and suits all condition.
Yamaha Tracer 700 engine is 689cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder has Euro4 approved, and delivers 74.5 HP at 9,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 6.9 kgm at 6,500 rpm. Which is the same engine mounted on the XSR 700. But the weight is now 196 pounds, a little bit heavier compared to 182 of the MT-07 standard. The chassis also remains unchanged with respect to the little naked, but now the saddle is at 845 mm from the ground, and the handlebar has a higher curve and is broader, also integrating cuffs and turn signals. The tank instead increased from 14 to 17 liters…
Obviously, It’s not a big tank for a traveler but the reduced consumption of the new Yamaha Tracer 700 can guarantee very good mileage. But to make kilometers, also it serves a storage capacity that can be mounted with 20-litre soft luggage and a 19-litre rear box, plus a wider windshield to improve aerodynamics. It will be available from July 2016, at a price of 7,890 Euro.
