2015 was a fantastic year for commuter bike sales in the UK — the best in 30 years in fact – with more than 43,700 new motorcydes and scooters registered in the 101-125cc category alone, according to the Motorcycle Industry Assotiation (MCIA). We now have the details of the best-selling bikes, and the winners are:
Best-Selling 0-50cc Machine : Lexmoto Scout 49
The Scout 49 from Lexmoto was the best-selling sub—50cc machine in the country. It features decent build quality, reability and retails at just £649.99. With a 49cc four-stroke engine, this is a machine that is mainly for beginners and short—distance commuters.

Best-Selling 51–125cc Machine : Honda PCX 125
The winner in the tightly contested 125cc category was the Honda PCX125, a styiish A1 licence-friendly urban scooter that has been real hit with city commuters, not Ieast because of its claimed 133.9 mpg fuel consumption and its reliable four-stroke liquid-cooled engine.
