TVS Akula 310 is one of the most-awaited bike in this year. The 310cc powered sportbike will use some similar specs from the smallest Bavarian Motorrad, BMW G 310R, but comes with cheaper and more affordable price. Interestingly, the production for either Asian and European market will take place in Indonesia… Besides, the domestic bike that will be made by India itself.
The third largest motorcycle manufacturer in India has launched a new bike earlier this year with Apache RTR 200 4V – 200cc Streetfighter that competing against Japanese 150cc naked bikes in India and ASEAN. And to expand its market in such a booming class like 250-400cc bike, they have prepared the TVS Akula 310.
Thanks to the agreement with BMW Motorrad, now TVS could use some G 310R technology in their new Sportbike. That’s why TVS Akula 310 will share some similar specs with the Bavarian little bike – like steel trellis frame, single-cylinder engine and also the electronics, but could be tuned differently in terms of power output.Even though TVS cannot using a technology that have been patented by BMW, but the rumour in India said there will be lot of similar tech between those bikes.
Then, why it will be assembled in Indonesia? That’s because TVS production line in Bangalore has met the limit for supplying the Indian’s market demand. So, The production and assembly line will be taken place in the new TVS Motor Company Indonesia Factory. This seems much logical since TVS Akula 310 is a bike that will be much more accepted in some Asian and Europe market.
Obviously, the production model seems won’t have a carbon-fibre body like the TVS Akula 310 concept. Key features in this brand-new 310cc sportbikes are a tall windshield, upside-down forks, monoshock rear suspension, front and rear disc brakes with two-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) and fully digital instrument panel. The standard tyres could be Pirelli Sport Demon, just like the Apache RTR 200 4V.
