The new generation of KTM Duke family will make global debut. This was confirmed by KTM when they released the new teaser video. The 2017 KTM Duke 390 will be unveiled on the first media day of EICMA 2016 while it has been spotted testing couple of times in India and Austria. The KTM 390 Duke is expected to carry these full LED headlamps along with the fully digital colored instrument.
The new Duke street fighter adopts a super aggressive design which is highlighted by a futuristic bifurcated headlamp which appears to employ LEDs. The new frame is expected to be lighter than the first one, making it easy for the manufacturer to add the exhaust for Euro 4 emission norm fulfillment and thrilling sound. The 2017 KTM Duke 390 will also be more powerful, sharper and more refined than the current Duke 390.
The design changes are applicable on both smaller duke-series, the 2017 KTM Duke 390 and 200, keeping the frame and alloys Black in Duke 200 and Orange in Duke 390. Design updates include – redesigned fuel tank and razor sharp extensions further accentuate the motorcycle’s character. Thanks to the latest spy shots, we can also notice a new rear subframe and revised exhaust system.
The 2017 KTM Duke 390 also receives a new instrument console. If we are to believe a new report, the instrument control of new gen Duke 390 is going to be a full-colour unit and that too with bluetooth smartphone integration. This will allow you to sync your bike’s data with your phone. Also, it will also use some phone apps, for example maps, and stream it on the bike’s console.
Other expected additions to the 2017 KTM Duke 390 includes ride by wire technology with riding modes, bigger fuel tank, Michelin tyres and dual function forks. Meanwhile, the KTM 200 Duke is expected to get ABS as standard while it will share most of its parts with the bigger Duke. New Duke is expected to be launched in UK by March/April 2017.
